Austin, Texas. The year is 2021. A group of Fungis (Fun Guys) is having a blast of a year, they find out that instead of .com, you can register websites under a .fun domain. They wonder why you would ever do anything besides use .fun...

Fast forward 3 years later, one of the Fungis (David) has been operating a small design and website operation under the name dotfun, delivering beautiful websites, and some fun automations to help small businesses thrive. He returns to Austin to re-connect with his friends, and it turns out Perl had been brewing on starting up his own operation to deliver marketing support, along with operations by teaming up with Alvin.

David, Perl, and Alvin had grown close over the years. Original meeting at small intentional gatherings to birthing a Burning Man camp called The Gong Spot, or G-Spot for short, was teaming up to launch a powerhouse digital agency the next adventure in their story? As it turns out, it was. Everything fit perfectly, the 3 amigos had 3 distinct skill sets that worked together in perfect harmony.

From the get-go dotfun had potential clients lined up. In the first few months, 3 new websites had gone up, none of them being dotfun's own, a testament to how much we prioritize our clients of course.

One of our main functions had become flipping large Wordpress sites over to Webflow, our preferred platform for building websites. Across the first 3 projects, SEO errors dropped by the tens of thousands, key scores from various engines increased drastically, and the companies now had a solid digital foundation to build real growth on top of.

Once the first wave of flips was complete, Perl got to step in and flex his expertise kicking growth into high gear. All of dotfun's clients reliably see month over month increases in their most valuable metrics, from organic search to paid conversions. All the while, Alvin keeps everything running like a well oiled machine, and solving the more technical issues that inevitably pop up in any project.

Today, in the age of AI, dotfun has adapted quickly to ensure the new capabilities are leveraged to the best of their ability, while keeping a human first approach to the work where it matters most. We will dive into the concept of "human first" and what it means to us on another blog, so make sure to keep an eye out!
